The Feast of Christ The King

Christ the King.

Today we celebrate the universal King.
He did not claim to be only the king of the Jews.
His kingdom was not to be an exclusive one.
He is king of all who are on the side of truth and listen to his voice.

NO HOLY HOUR TODAY

In every generation there are men and women whose lives reflect the glory of God through their faithful witness to Christ. These people the Church recognises as Saints.

By honouring its children who lived as heroes of faith and love, the Church recognizes the power of the Holy Spirit within her. Saints give us joy; their example sustains our hope; and their friendship increases our love and union with God and with each other. Canonization is a way of giving thanks to God as we honour the person who has been so faithful to God's plan in his or her life.

Just such a man was Abp. Fulton Sheen. To promote his cause, we welcome to our community this weekend Mr Martin Shaw.

Our "Red Cap" helpers would like to say a huge thank you to the many people who supported them so generously last weekend. Over £700 was raised!

Finally, the "Walk With Me" Advent booklets, are on sale in the porch. These books contain a series of daily prayers and meditations for you to use during Advent. They are £1 a piece and sold like 'hot cakes' last year,. Be sure to get your copy as soon as possible. I commend them to you most highly as part of your preparation for Christmas.

God Bless.
