Holy Hour

My Dear Friends,

Today we celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi: the body of Christ; sacramentally given to us as food. We are commemorating the night, when Jesus gathered his disciples together and assured them, in the breaking of bread and the sharing of wine, that he would continue to be present among them until the end of time. This is the promise we celebrate at every Mass

When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim that we are the body of Christ alive in this world. Jesus offers his body and blood as nourishment so that we may truly become what we eat. So let us rejoice on this wonderful festival day and allow our lives to be ennobled and divine by the sacred food we eat.

Next weekend we welcome Fr Paul Allerton of the Montfort Missionaries for the annual diocesan appeal. Fr Paul will be staying in the Presbytery with Fr Edi and I do hope that someone will be able to offer them some hospitality, as I am away, on either Saturday evening or Sunday lunchtime? If you can, please have a word with Gillian, as soon as possible. Thank you for helping out with this.

God Bless.
