My Dear Friends,

I do hope that everyone is having a truly wonderful, holy and blessed Christmas?

Every year Mum and I are deeply touched by your extraordinary generosity towards us. The tree was swamped with gifts and I am still trying to find space for the avalanche of cards, and what I am going to do with all those bottles - heaven alone knows!!

On Friday, New Year's Day, we shall be celebrating the feast of Mary, The Mother of God. And what better way to begin a New Year than by being at Mass.

The Mass will be at 12 noon, giving us a bit of a lie in, which may be helpful, and afterwards we shall get together in the hall for a time of fellowship over a glass of wine and a mince pie! I do hope that many of us will come along, to start 2010 in the best way possible by drawing every closer to Christ.

For some months now, in the light of the Swine Flue Pandemic, the chalice has not been offered at Mass here at St Gregory the Great. However as this threat appears to have abated somewhat the opportunity to receive the Precious Blood will recommence next weekend.

It is a great and wonderful privilege for us to be able to receive the Blessed Sacrament under both species and I do hope we will once again avail ourselves of this honour.

Finally just a reminder that all money collected at our Crib goes to help the needy children and families of our diocese. After Candlemass, when the crib is removed, all our donations go to support the wonderful work of the Westminster Catholic Children's Society.

God Bless.

ALTAR SERVERS

I am trying to arrange a trip to the ice rink for the altar servers. Could I ask parents to let me know what dates would be convenient? To fulfil child protection rules I will need some adult helpers. If you can help out with that as well please let me know.

DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES 2010

As usual the diocese will be going on pilgrimage to Lourdes at the end of July. If you are interested in joining our parish group be sure to look out for a booking form as soon as they become available.

PARISH DIARIES AND DIOCESAN YEAR BOOKS

These are still available in the porch. Parish diaries at £1 a piece and the Year Books at £4. Please place any money for these items in the wall safe.

DON'T FORGET! THERE IS COFFEE IN THE PARISH HALL AFTER THE MORNING MASS ON SUNDAY.
SEE YOU THERE!!
