Reception at the school after Mass
Said Mass - Pro Populo

My Dear Friends,

I do hope that everyone is having a truly wonderful, holy and blessed Christmas? It was deeply moving to see how many people came to worship the Christ child and I hope you enjoyed our services as much as I did?

Once again I have been deeply touched by your extraordinary generosity towards me. The tree was swamped with gifts and cards. Thank you so much and God Bless you for your affection and kindness.

Next weekend is a highly important one for our Parish School as it celebrates its 50th Anniversary. St Swithun Wells is a truly wonderful school which lives up to its Mission Statement that it is a place - "where the love of God is always present". So next Sunday morning our Mass will be in thanksgiving for all the school has, and continues to achieve in its living out of the Gospel. After Mass the school looks forward to welcoming one and all to come and have a look around; and over a cup of coffee to enjoy an exhibition of its history and to reminisce a little about the past! I do hope that many of us will join in the celebrations.

Finally, traditionally this is the time of the year to be making resolutions! They are not always easy to keep, but they have merit if they draw us closer to God and make us better Christians. I would like to suggest that one area we might all look at is our life of prayer. Surely it is possible for us to get to Mass on a weekday as well as Sunday? Perhaps there's a church near to where you work that has a lunchtime Mass, or perhaps you could get down to St Greg's? Do think about this seriously, for be assured it will 'light up your life'.

God Bless.
