THE FEAST OF THE TRANSFIGURATION

This feast is not merely the recalling of the shining light of divine glory
~ a foretaste of Christ's Easter glory and of his last coming.
It also reminds us that only perseverance in the service of God
leads to the glory of vision.

Holy Hour and Benediction

My Dear Friends,

At this time of the year many members of our parish family are away on well-deserved summer breaks. However, the negative aspect of this is that a number of our regular church tasks are crying out for helpers!

The first of these that springs to mind is 'church cleaning' the team is sadly depleted at present, and although nothing gets overlooked, the volume of work is often hard. Could you come along for just an hour on Saturday morning to help? I can assure you of a warm welcome. Helpers arrive about 8.30 am. So please, if you can just drop in.

Another area of concern is - welcomers. This is such an important task., handing out books as people come in for Mass; making them feel welcome.

If there is no one in the porch when you arrive, do consider helping out to "meet and greet". It is vital that we are a community that truly 'opens the doors' to all who pass by.

Finally, looking ahead. On 28th August we shall be having another parish 'working party' around the church. This will be, in part, so that everything may be just so for our festival ~ the following Sunday, September 3rd.

God Bless,

1st RECONCILIATION AND 1st HOLY COMMUNION

Parents of children hoping to make their 1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion in 2006/2007 are asked to collect a registration form from the church porch and to return the completed application to the Presbytery before 10th September. These forms are for children who will be in Year 3 (or above) from September 2006.

THE FEAST OF ST. GREGORY ~ SUNDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER

SUNG MASS, PROCESSION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT AND BENEDICTION ~ 11.00 am

Parents of children who made their 1st Holy Communion earlier this year are reminded that it is their children's privilege to 'attend' the Blessed Sacrament. Parish party follows after Mass. Make a note in your diary NOW!
